// PATTERN_OF_ABUSE.TXT
Epstein's operation targeted vulnerable young women, often from disadvantaged backgrounds. Victims were recruited with promises of modeling opportunities, educational assistance, or payment for "massage services."
Once recruited, victims were pressured to bring in other girls, creating a pyramid of exploitation. Many victims became recruiters themselves, often not understanding the full nature of the operation.

// PURSUIT_OF_JUSTICE.TXT
The 2008 plea deal in Florida, arranged by Alexander Acosta, allowed Epstein to serve just 13 months in a private wing of county jail with work release. This agreement shielded unnamed co-conspirators from prosecution.
The 2019 federal indictment came after years of pressure from victims and journalists. Epstein's death in custody on August 10, 2019, denied victims their day in court. Maxwell's conviction in 2021 provided some measure of justice.
